Configure how tasks are categorized in the Engineering Investment report to ensure an accurate overview of your team's work.
Investment models
In Settings → Engineering Investment, owners and administrators can create their own models alongside Balance. Select New model, enter a model name, and define the name, color, and issue types of each category. Click Save Settings to save.
Select a model in the grid to edit it. Use Set as default to make it the workspace default, Duplicate to copy it, or Delete model to delete it.
Issue Type
Assign the issue types from your project-management integrations to the model's categories, then save the settings. In Balance, the categories are New Things, Improve Things, Keep The Lights On, and Productivity. Any uncategorized issue types are highlighted on the page.
AI Agent
When the AI Agent option is available in Balance, you can use it instead of issue-type mappings. Custom models use issue-type mappings only. Add an optional prompt or choose a suggested prompt to guide classification. Saving this mode starts the reclassification of existing tasks, which may take a few minutes.
